Roadside Attractions, Haunted Places and State and town events?

im planning a month long road trip for spring 2012 with my 2 closest friends. When we started planning this trip we were just gonna hit up places like Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone and other National Monuments then we decided to go to New Orleans and that turned into seeing some Haunted places and we also want to see weird roadside attractions stuff like Carhenge and The largest ball of yarn just odd things and just from some searching I've found some town events that we would like to hit up. so if anyone knows of anything that would be cool to see let me know please we r starting out in Houston Tx and going all the way to Maine then driving across to Cali so we will go anywhere even into Canada if need to we want to see everything. one friend is a writer so we r planning on blogging about our trip as we go about things we see and eat and just things that happen once again please all anything that u know of......
