I want to join the U.S Military but I am not sure what is better Army or Marines? I want an answer preferably from someone who has had experience in the U.S Military. Help me fix my iPod please!?

Ok, so I thought I was being so smart when I extracted all my favorite songs from my iPod. I plugged it into the computer, went into "My Computer", clicked on my iPod, and clicked on the "Music" folder. Each song was named with 4 or 5 random letters, so I renamed most of them so I could navigate through them easier. I copied and pasted the ones I wanted into the music folder on the computer and successfully burned the CD I wanted. The problem is, when I turn on my iPod to listened to my favorite songs, NONE of them will play because they are all renamed. I don't think the problem resulted from the copy and pasting, because those aren't the only songs that won't play, it's every single one that I renamed. PLEASE HELP!

I'm travelling from wichita ks through the lower states down I-40 to san Diego with plans to stop at four corners then the grand canyon then into cali then returning home with a planned route through las vegas, salt lake city UT, yellowstone park in WY then through denver back to kansas. I'm curious as to about how much it'd cost to make the trip plus have extra cash for misc fun/sightseeing, motel fees, toll roads, and for emergencies. I'm 15, my mom won't let my dad have custody, even though its what I want.?

I'm am 15 years old. I've lived with my mom for all 15 of them. January of 2010 my parents split up. I stayed with my mom. August of 2010 she found a boyfriend and picked up our family consisting of me, my little sister, and her, and moved us out with him and his two children. I lived in my hometown for 8 years. My mom moved me out with her boyfriend at the start of my freshman year because it was a better education from what I'd receive in my hometown. I hated my new school off the get. My mom wrote me a letter and told me that if I stayed and tried this new school for one year, I could go back and live with my dad in my hometown. My dad found a school that may be better then the school I attended with my mom. It's almost like a private school. The school has great opportunities. My father then filed for custody in April in hopes to have me in his custody by summer. In the mean time, early June, me wanting to live with my father for so long had such an impact on my mom, she texted my dad and said she's done. My dad and I win. I can pack my stuff up and live with him. She doesn't have the strength anymore. She watched me as I packed everything in my room and I wasn't allowed to leave anything. The court date ended up being near the end of June. After two weeks of living with my dad, the court date rolls around. In court my mother gets a lawyer and says she never granted custody. In the court they came to agreement that she'd have split custody in the summer, and my fathers custody is only temporary during the school year. I was crushed when I found out about every other week in the summer. I do not have many friends where my mom lives and I'm miserable. I'm so much happier in my hometown with my dad. Should I go to Job Corp this this year instead of returning to High School?

Alright, I will be 16 this August, and my Aunt mentioned Job Corp to me. Here is what has been going on in my life the past year. My mom, has basically abandoned me and my little sister. We are fine because we are with our father, and he takes very good care of us and provides any thing we need, and is very concerned about our education. Do earthquakes and uplift at lake toba mean it is going to erupt?

I've read alot about earthquakes there in 2010 and earlier, one which I think was a 5.4. If this happened at yellowstone it would be quite worrying, but seeing ad Lake Toba is on/near a fault line, should this be as worrying? What caused it? it was her 1 year anniversary last saturday. So she wanted me to come and i did. Beairng in mind, my sister is being so over protective with me and is giving me strict boundaries. You need to understand my situation with my family and i dont wanna let them down and disobey them behind their backs. I was here for pretty much the whole day anyways and my curfew is at 5.00 and that activity will take up to i hour and ive rinsed my cahs anyways!" So then me and my other friends made our way home. One day later, my friend told my other male friend that we wernt there for her, we done her over, we didnt listen to them etc etc.... she even put a picture of herself and put everyones name on it but not mine :S she knows how close me and her were. we always took pictures together. Should the Byzantium empire be renamed as it makes little historical sense referring to them thus?

There could be many reasons why it was called The Byzantine Empire. Maybe it came into use by historians, so that the period of the single 'Roman Empire', up until 475 a.d., and the era of the 'Eastern Roman Empire' were not to be confused. The Ottoman Sultans called themselves Roman Emperor so more than anything the term probably derived to give distinction to the Dynasty rather than the Empire. They themselves called it the 'Eastern Roman Empire', but of course Byzantium was the Greek name for the ancient city of Constantinople, and that is where the name originated so in some ways it does make sense. Most importantly though their were the Holy Roman Emperors, I have a theory that they were referred to as the byzantines to prevent confusion between the 'Holy Romans' and the 'Eastern Romans', and perhaps also to avoid a clash in titles, 'Byzantine Emperor' vs 'Holy Roman Emperor' of course.

Using Mozilla Firefox you can save webpages in a "complete manner", an html file is created along with a file containing all the images the webpage uses, it has a title of "NameOfWebpage_files". When I renamed an html I tried renaming the folder as well but now the webpage has absolutely no images to open with. I cannot go back to the webpage I tried to save cause it is now inexistent, and I do not remember the original name of the webpage I saved. Stupid yes, but beyond the point. Is there a way to rename html saved webpages and have the images remain linked to it?

Help Installing Smash Stack on my Wii?

I went to wiibrew.org and followed the directions. I renamed the sd card's private folder to privateold. I downloaded smash stack and saved its private folder under wii, then app, then RSBE, then st. I downloaded hackmii version 0.8 and put its boot.elf file in the same section as smash stack. I got rid of the rest. I deleted all custom stages off the wii and the sd card. The sd card is 1.0gb. I put the sd card in my wii, turned on Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and went to stage builder. Nothing Happened!!! It didn't load. It didn't do anything. What did I do wrong? Please Help!!

Lake toba activity? Eruption?

I've read alot about earthquakes there in 2010 and earlier, one which I think was a 5.4. If this happened at yellowstone it would be quite worrying, but seeing ad Lake Toba is on/near a fault line, should this be as worrying? What caused it? Also, there was 450m of uplift due to the 'partial refilling of the magma chamber'. I know that doesn't directly connote an eruption, but does it mean one will happen in the near future? Two Year Old Rat Terrier WETS ALL OVER! HELP!?

I have a Rat Terrier, Male, neutered at a young age. I got him as a puppy from the breeder and he has lived with us his whole two years so abuse is not a factor in the fact that he pees all over the place. He does not even know how to sit because if we attempt training he pees on our feet, when we greet him he pees, when he is scolded for peeing he pees, I can't even kick him off my bed or he will pee on my bed. He still stays in a kennel all day. We thought for a period that he was trained and we let him stay out during the day only to find that he began wetting all over again. He is let out often. He has a fenced yard to run and exercise in so he has ample opportunity to get the wet out. Even when we come home to let him out of his kennel he wets right out the doors. My kids love him and do not want him to go anywhere and I love him too but it is just getting to be too much. We have carpet and he is just destroying it. Is there any hope for this dog? What do I do?

Trumpet, saxophone, or clarinet?

I'm a 7th grader (8th in September), and I play the trombone. I'm pretty advanced for my age and experience and my band teacher actually gave me a recommendation to join the high school band. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the trombone, and I'll stick with it until the day I die. However, this summer, I'm getting the opportunity to learn either the trumpet, saxophone, or clarinet. They are all either free or very cheap, and I'd basically get a month or two to play around with it, then actually get formal lessons from my band teacher once I get back into school. Which one, in your opinion, would be the best without interfering with my trombone playing (ie: I heard somewhere that learning trumpet might mess up my trombone embouchure...?). Thanks!

Windows Media Player Says Album starts with a "U" instead of an "A"?

I have a problem with this album I got. The album is "A Una Voz". As you can see, it starts with an "A". Well in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center it shows up under "U" when I sort my songs by Album. I tried to fix this by renaming the information and it still shows up under "U" when it should really be under "A" because that's what the album name starts with. Is this just a bug or is there a way to fix this?

Windows XP folder options. Is there a way to make a folder display only files and not any subfolders?

I save scans and various copies of business receipts in a folder but many files also create an associated folder containing some other info pertaining to the file. I have to rename the scans and they all start life as 00000.jpg to make finding them easy to find for renaming as they all end up at the top of the list of files. i seem to be able to understand animals. most of the time, anyways. and most of the time, i can make them understand me...sometimes without even talking. i dont exactly mean telepathy either. at least, i dont "think" words at them. i do think feelings at them and sometimes pictures. i can tell when they dont feel well or are depressed, when other people think they are just fine...and most of the time i can tell what is causing them to be depressed. i once talked a cat out of a tree, and there were witnesses who saw the cat follow my every instruction as though he understood them. in the summer that i spent in yellowstone, i sat within touching distance of an elk in labour, until a woman walked up talking at the top of her voice caused the elk to get up and walk away. later i spent the day standing between a first time mother elk and her newborn calf and tourists...i started the day by stopping her charge on a group of them...she charged 29 times that day. but she would stop every time because i was alway there. i posed no threat to her. i always spoke soothingly to her and she would go back to her calf. i seem to communicate on a different level, not always vocal, with animals. but i think any person could do it to, if they really wanted to do it. i have always loved animals, and i have spent a lifetime observing them. learning how they communicate with each other and with us. i think if i can do it anyone else can. but people always tell me it is a gift. is it because they dont want to put out the time and effort or because they dont understand how to? or is it really a gift and not everyone can do it? what is your opinion?

Learning German, then going to school there?

My Oma lives in Mainz, Germany, and when I graduate from high school in December I'm going to live with her for four months to improve my German, then I'm coming back to the states. I'm either going to go to school here in the states, or I am going to spend a year in Germany living in Mainz and taking classes at the Goethe Institute preparing me to pass the DaF so that I can attend school at one of the universities. My goal is to be able to obtain a work visa after school and stay in Germany if it works out. My question is, do you think it's possible that I can reach enough fluency in German to attend a university there? I've taken 4.5 years of high school German, my dad is a fluent German speaker and is currently only speaking to me auf Deutsch. I would love to be in Germany for school; this is only a dilemma because if I choose to spend that year in Germany to learn the language, if I haven't reached enough fluency and decide I can't attend a university there I might not be able to start school in the states until I'm 21. I don't know what that would mean for ACT scores and etc, but basically I'm choosing one or the other. Yes I've thought about studying abroad. The schools that I'm applying to in the states for my major do not offer good study abroad programs, the longest period of time I can participate is up to a year. So. It's one or the other for me, I don't want to ruin my education to switch countries, but this is an opportunity that is more available to me than other people and I'm not sure about due to the circumstances. Any information from personal experience, or any suggestions? Also, my Oma is getting old and I don't have a lot of family in Germany still, so because of that and if I'm paying American college tuition, I won't be able to visit often anymore. How do I apply for food stamps/SNAP separately from parents?

I've read that if someone is 22 or older then they may apply separately from parents if living in the same household, but my question is how?? My parents are not on any benefits, but I'm 22 I just got off active duty from the military a few months ago and moved back with them. Should I go to the USAFA?

I am currently a female my late teens and for some reason joining the military is something i always wanted to do. There is something about the Air Force in particular that interests me the most. I love math and science and i definatly enjoy a challenge. Right now im considering going to the Air Force Academy after i graduate from high school, but this is something no one in my family aproves of. They all ask me "why?" and they think that if i join the USAF ill be commiting the biggest mistake of my life. I do not have any "problems" or wish to join simply for money or anything like that. If i honestly could i have the opportunity to go to any other college and i know i have many other career options if i wished. Nothing really caught my attention though. I tried imagining myself pursuing another career and i just cant see it. I dont want to do something 'normal' i want something exciting and risky, and when i learned about the USAFA i have never felt so excited and sure about wanting something. Right now I'm in the JROTC program at my school which is a leadership program based on the military. I love marching and the uniforms. I dont care about the yelling or how tough the basic training will be, but i just want to know from others if anyone has regretted joining the military? You think i should just stick with another career? My siblings constantly try to tell me that the military just try to "Brainwash" people, and that im too bright to fall for something like this. Can I change Fable III's (PC) music?

I'm not a fan of the music in the game, I more enjoy the older music. Before I go messing with files, theoretically I could find the music I want to change in the "audio" folder of Fable III, delete the music I want to change, and rename a Fable I audio file to that of the replaced one? It would then cue that audio file, for say entering Bowerstone? I've also found that music doesn't cue very often in Fable III as the others did, or maybe I'm just imagining things. This could all be fixed with mods, but Microsoft/Lionhead sucks. :)

Midwest road trip to Yellowstone.?

Wyoming is a beautiful state, and there are a lot of places to hike, camp, and see some honky tonks! Devils Tower is pretty cool. Thermopolis is a nice place to visit and soak in the hot springs. If youre a fan of history, you can check out historical places and monuments in the state too, like the Oregon Trail, forts, and more (cheap!). The southern part of WY, you have the Flaming Gorge. Not too many people, but so gorgeous and plenty of places to enjoy the water and camping. Between Laramie and Cheyenne, you have Veedauwoo, which is a hiking camping area at 8000 ft, and there are trails and rocks, and it is sooo quiet up there. If you prefer, you can park the car at the rest area near-by, where there is civilization. Its at the top of the hill at I-80 and has bathrooms. Of course, Colorado is full of nice places to visit, but there you will have more people and more prices (for example, Vail). Dodge City in Kansas is cool. How about portions of Route 66? Mt Rushmore in South Dakota, and all the other smaller tourist places around there, is a nice place to see. ooo there was a "nice" honky tonk in Rapid City, but that was about 10 years ago, cant remember.... Scenic Hwy 89 has buffalo in the road, so neat!!! Cant say Im a big fan of Nebraska, but there are some good diners and truck stops along the way, and guarantee there wont be too many people at the camp spots. Make sure you bring rain gear (tent covers) and more, and make sure you bring a WINTER jacket. That is right! I camped at Yellowstone in August and it SNOWED.

Very big issue involving cats and our new landlord, what should I do?

If I were you, I'd confront the landlord and be honest. Mention that they have no place to go and your only option is for you to take them in. Most apartment complexes (actually I think all) charge you extra for having pets in the house. But to be honest I had a cat in my apartment and my landlord or manager of the complex never knew nor found out. I find it the right way to be honest because if the landlord were to find the cat and you never told him/her then that's twice the penalty. Just be honest! :) Good luck!

Renaming Music File Help?

I have a couple music files on my iPod that put all the information (artist, album, song) in one line. I tried to rename these files by right-clicking, going to properties, and clicking on the summary tab. There are spaces for artists name, title, and stuff. I just can't fill them out, I can only fill out title. Does anyone know how to make these files display with separate lines for artist, album, and song title? I'm really OCD about this and if I can't fix it, I'll be really depresed.

Ballet classes now or wait a year?

Well I have never been given medication for it but I get bad stomach aches to and my doctor just told me it was from stress. It never really leaves unless you can find a way to manage your stress. For me I will still get them from time to time but mostly it's settled down a LOT. I used to have a stomach ache daily when I was 9-13 at 14-15 it became like 2 times a week and 16-17 has been like only 5 times a year.

I never sweat over campsites anywhere. However, I am flexible. I would never camp in Yellowstone campgrounds. They are over-developed for me. I did enjoy camping in the off-season in National Forest campgrounds around Yellowstone. If I recall correctly, I was at an empty campground in Gallatin National Forest. I also had a fantastic experience at Grand Teton National Park, including an almost empty campground. I doubt that it fits your needs for facilities, but you can always go dispersed camping if you are rejected at a campground. Almost all of my recent camping experiences are dispersed camping in wilderness areas. I never see bears in my camp when I am dispersed camping. I often meet them in developed villages and campgrounds.

Hi, I had a guy friend in school, he was one of my best friends actually, and we have been really strong friends for two years. Why can't my YW leaders understand that I don't feel comfortable praying in class?

I feel like I have no friends at church, and that all the girls hate me. Ok, I have a mac, an old mac that runs version 10.5.8. I want to install modloader, so I follow directions on youtube and turn minecraft.jar into a folder, which i renamed minecraft.jar. I installed it, and all the mods, and I ALSO deleted META-INF. However, when I start, I get a black screen. From what I figured out, I think that the minecraft client doesn't know that there is a minecraft.jar because it is in a folder form... or not? My answer won't be much comfort to you i'm afraid.You just never know how furloughs are going to shake out.When our economy tanked the furloughs were horrible.They are all back to work now and they are hiring.But you just never know what will happen.I'm not going to tell you it will be ok because i don't know.That being said as of right now we are working our butts off.My son just hired out here in Texas at the same place i work out of.He is in training right now.His pay for the first 3 weeks of classroom was 80 a day.Then he did 4 weeks of yard training at 160 a day(i think it was 160 maybe 140 i'm at work so i can't ask him).Then back to classroom for 2 more weeks at 160 a day.Now he is starting student trips on the road.We get paid trip rates for road jobs.His trip rate should be about 220 each way.He'll do those for a month.They work them pretty steady.He gets 10 hours off then goes on the first train that shows up.Then at home i think he'll get 24 hours off between trips.Your health benefits start right away.There is a 90 day probation period when you hire out.Til your over that 90 days the railroad can release you at any time.After 90 days the union accepts you as a member and you have some protection.It's very hard to get permanently fired after your in the union.You really have to screw up bad!It's a good job but i can't tell you what your husband should do.It's a risk for sure.It was good for my kid because he's young and single.

My dad found a school that may be better then the school I attended with my mom. It's almost like a private school. The school has great opportunities. My father then filed for custody in April in hopes to have me in his custody by summer. In the mean time, early June, me wanting to live with my father for so long had such an impact on my mom, she texted my dad and said she's done. My dad and I win. I can pack my stuff up and live with him. She doesn't have the strength anymore. She watched me as I packed everything in my room and I wasn't allowed to leave anything. The court date ended up being near the end of June. After two weeks of living with my dad, the court date rolls around. In court my mother gets a lawyer and says she never granted custody. In the court they came to agreement that she'd have split custody in the summer, and my fathers custody is only temporary during the school year. I was crushed when I found out about every other week in the summer. I do not have many friends where my mom lives and I'm miserable. I'm so much happier in my hometown with my dad. Because of the untruthfulness of my mother, I've learned to hate her. How could she be so selfish to her daughter and keep her somewhere she DOESN'T want to be. I'm 15, have no criminal record, has a 3.9 GPA, and hangs out with a group of friends who have good heads on their shoulders. Is there anything I can do? I've thought about emancipation, but I don't have job, and I want to live full time with my dad. I'd rather not see my mom. Help?

Well for a first date I would just stick with hand holding and putting your arm around her, but make sure she knows it's a date. Here's the deal. I sing Opera and I'm top notch Soprano at my community college and would do anything for music. I've been singing all my life, been in so many programs and choirs and have been taking singing lessons for years. I flew out to New Jersey last December to apply to Westminster College in Princeton, NJ (this school is private, population of 70 students, and is connected to Princeton and if I got accepted I would be a Princeton student as well.) I did a private audition and blew the judges away, saying they would do "anything" to have me as a student and am the best singer they've heard in a long time. After the audition I flew back home waiting for my acceptance letter. I got my letter 1 week later saying they accepted me and offering my $21,000 scholarship towards my tuition. Although the tuition is $40,000 a year, I still need $19,000. The school said they don't give full ride scholarships and the scholarship I got is the best. I called the school many times for financial aid or loans and they said they do not offer anything more than my scholarship and that I can look into bank loans. If I got a government loan I need to co-sign with my parents, but we keep getting denied cause my parents "make too much money." My parents can't pay out of their pocket cause they "Have too many expensive bills to pay." But bank loans interest are SO HIGH! I don't know if I'm getting myself into something I will regret and be in debt for life. But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and all my professional teachers are saying I can honestly get famous for this for how talented I am...but the financial problem is such a pain. My parents are conservative, so they said if I can't go to Princeton I need to move out and live on my own and work up in a restaurant somehow. My boss has never really liked me but we have had a stable working relationship for the past 10 years. Recently at his 40th birthday we all went over to his house for the party. Why is minecraft not reading my texture pack?

Ok so yesturday i started messing with terrain files and guy and stuff and a bunch of minecraft stuff to make me and my friend a nice looking texture pack. So vie looked at tutorials and stuff i have all the right files. And no i did not rename anything. Im using mac. The texture pack works if i put it all in the same folder as the minecraft app itself so it uses those as the source. But when i put it zipped in the library/applicationsupport/minecraft/tex… or whatever i go to the game it shows up but doesn't use the textures... just goes default on me...?

I'm building a site for a client that does business globally. There current site does not have a translate option and I believe (after analyzing their Adwords data), that they are missing a great deal of opportunities. I installed a Google translate widget that works like a charm, the only problem is that we're concerned that it won't be recognized as what it is, since the field containing the "translate" text, is in English itself. Do internet savvy users that don't speak English typically understand what the box will do? Would they typically check the contents of a drop down box labeled with Google's logo? Thanks!
